“It was a genuine honour to be invited to deliver the keynote address at the LCI Melbourne – Institute of Higher Education Graduation Ceremony and to celebrate the creative graduating class as they marked this important milestone.
The evening was a reminder of the energy, promise and individuality that emerging creatives bring to the design world. I left feeling genuinely inspired by the enthusiasm of the graduates and the dedication of their mentors.
It was a privilege to share some of my own career journey with the graduates, a path that has not been linear, but one shaped by curiosity, instinct, resilience and a deep appreciation for design. Throughout my career, I have remained deeply drawn to design that feels authentic and lasting, grounded in material integrity, craftsmanship and a genuine connection to how we live.
Speaking to emerging creatives always reminds me that there is no single way into this industry. Each path is different, and that is part of what makes the creative world so rich. What matters is staying true to your values, continuing to refine your voice, and remaining open to growth, collaboration and possibility.
